Computational Neuroscience

This research line approaches the understanding of development and function of the nervous systems by the use of mathematical models and computer simulations. Many different levels are considered, including the biophysical, the circuit, and the system levels. Methods include the use of theoretical analysis and of numerical modelling of synapses, neurons and networks, and they are conceived as being complementary to empirical techniques in Neuroscience.
